Tier 1 Identification:
Ca Driver's license or CA ID card. US passport or passport card. Inmate ID card. Inmate Bracelet.
- if an expired ID, look at the issue date; if it is within five years, it is ok because DL is valid for four years, not five.
- Passports expire in ten years, which is not in that range.
Side note: ID must be equal to or greater than a signature.
Example: document signed by John A Doe, and his ID name is John Albert Doe
That is acceptable, but the opposite is insufficient if his ID is John A Doe, but the document signed as John Albert Doe is not enough; the rule's ID must be equal to or greater than the signature.
Tier 2 Identification: PSPS
Photograph-signature-physical description-Serial Number.
In the passport, there are no descriptions because the passport is within Tier 1, which doesn't follow PSPS. Tier 2 follows PSPS.
Tier 2: any state ID; some states have Voter ID cards; check PSPS.
Some state has voter id but does not have PSPS will not be acceptable even if it is a state ID.
Mexican consular ID is not acceptable doesn't have PSPS and no description.
We cannot take DL from other countries except Canada and Mexico. It contains PSPS and not the state id from Canada and Mexico; they don't carry PSPS.
We cannot take the new military ID with a sim chip because it doesn't have PSPS, but you can take it if the old military has PSPS.
In the test, only military ID is acceptable.
Ca state employee acceptable if it has PSPS, Tribal ID is okay to have PSPS and is a national issue, not from the state, so whatever condition is sufficient.
Tier 3 Identification:
A credible witness signer doesn't have an ID, but a Credible witness is a person who knows the signer personally and has to the Notary, and he shows an ID of tier 1 or tier 2.
He considers a walking ID to the signer. The person will raise a hand and put him under a simple verbal oath.
Do you swear or affirm that:
He says Yes, I swear, and he doesn't have to sign.
The notary says excellent; even though we know each other, I need to see your ID T1 or T2.
He says, sure, friend, because they know each other. Fine. If you don't ask for the credible witness ID, there will be $10,000.
Another scenario is if the signer doesn't know the Notary, he has to have two credible witnesses.
You do the same procedure as the first one; if you don't ask for ID, in this case, will be a $20,000 Fine.
